A trip to go whale watching has to be a trip of a life time. There are many destinations including Australia and South Africa where whales can be viewed but a special place has to be Iceland! Iceland is one of the most beautiful countries in the world with some amazing landscapes and activities.
It is thought that one quarter of the planets cetacean species have been recorded in Iceland's waters. Minke whale, humpback whale, blue whale, fin whale, sei whale, sperm whale, orca, pilot whale, white-beaked dolphin and harbour porpoise are regularly encountered.
In 1997 three rare northern bottlenose whales appeared and caused a big stir.
